FIFA has inaugurated its Regional Development Office for Eastern Africa on Friday February 19th 2021 in Kigali.
This official function was attended by the FIFA President Mr. Gianni INFANTINO accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hon. Vincent BIRUTA and the Minister of Sports Hon. MUNYANGAJU Aurore Mimosa who both represented the Government of Rwanda.
The function was also attended by Presidents of Regional FIFA Football Member Associations from the CECAFA council, who at the function, witnessed the official signing of the Host Nation Agreement issuing legal grounds to the football body to establish and start operations of its regional office in Rwanda.
The FIFA Regional Development Office will be hosted in the I&M Bank new building in Nyarugenge District of the City of Kigali.
The Cabinet Meeting held on January 4th, 2021 approved the draft Host Nation Agreement to host the FIFA Regional Office in Kigali.
