Nine speakers joined Hon. Minister Béata U. Habyarimana for the official launching of SheTrades Hub in Rwanda, on September 2, 2021.
In the context of the SheTrades Rwanda project, the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MINICOM) in collaboration with the International Trade Centre’s (ITC), and the Private Sector Federation (PSF) Women Chamber of Entrepreneurs established a SheTrades Hub in Rwanda
This Hub will join a network of more than 10 SheTrades Hubs across Africa, Asia and Latin America, and the Hub will support Rwandan women entrepreneurs to improve their competitiveness, connect to new markets and internationalize their businesses.
While officiating the launch, Minister Habyarimana said that Without the valuable contribution of the private sector, transforming Rwanda into an upper middle-income country by 2035&higher income country by 2050 might prove cumbersome.
“As a country, we are determined to empower women in business in order to accelerate economic transformation and lay out a strong foundation for sustainable future economic growth of Rwanda” She added
The SheTrades Hub will serve as a resource centre for women-owned businesses as they will gain access to more than 100 relevant trade-related modules, webinars, and trainings in addition to market access and investment opportunities. The SheTrades Hub will also provide a platform for the development of new partnerships with investors, multinational corporations, and business support organizations to foster an enabling environment for businesswomen.
