Five Mobondo militiamen died and two others were captured during clashes against FARDC on January 31, 2025 in the village of Nkomakiro, Kwamouth territory (Maï-Ndombe) in DRC.
As Radio Okapi reported; this assessment was delivered by the spokesperson for Operation Ngemba of the 11th military region, Captain Anthony Mualushayi.
This military officer explains that the attackers were the first to attack the FARDC positions in the village of Nkomakiro located in the south of the Kwamouth territory.
He said that during their raid, these militiamen beheaded two people in this locality.
The FARDC intervened and limited the damage. Five Mobondo insurgents were killed and two others were captured by the military.
“The situation so far is relatively calm, despite the displacement of the population of the mentioned village towards towns deemed secure.The army continues combat patrols throughout the village of Nkomakiro and its surroundings to put these enemies of peace out of harm’s way” added Captain Anthony Mualushayi.
For the moment, the Ngenga operations command is asking the population of Maï-Ndombe to collabolate with the army to establish peace and state authority in this area
