APR FC, reigning champions of the Rwanda Premier League, have officially completed the signing of Ronald Ssekiganda, a 21‑year‑old Ugandan international midfielder, on a two‑year contract.
Ssekiganda, formerly captain of Uganda’s record champions SC Villa, joins APR as a free agent after his contract expired. He spent six successful seasons with the club, including leading them to their 17th domestic title in the 2023/24 campaign
At APR, he reunites with fellow Ugandan internationals Hakim Kiwanuka and Denis Omedi, who have already bolstered the Rwandan side’s squad
Standing at 1.95 m, Ssekiganda has been praised for his versatility in midfield, combining defensive solidity with attacking prowess. His leadership was evident during his tenure as SC Villa captain, where he guided them through a dominant title-winning season.
He also represents the Uganda national team, with several appearances since his debut in 2024.
APR FC, a side owned by the Rwandan Defence Forces, has dominated the domestic scene, winning five consecutive league titles and the recent Peace Cup.
The club finished the 2024/25 season with 67 points from 30 matches—just four points clear of rivals Rayon Sports—and has set its sights on continental success
With Ronald Ssekiganda added to their roster, APR fans have every reason to be excited. The Ugandan midfielder’s experience, height, and leadership qualities position him as a key component of the club’s ambitions—both locally and across Africa.
