APR FC sign Ivorian forward William Mel Togui from Turkish league

APR FC, reigning champions of the Rwanda Premier League, have officially signed Ivorian international forward William Mel Togui on a two‑year contract.

Togui, aged 28, joins from Turkish second‑division outfit Ankara Keçiörengücü SK.

The forward, born August 7, 1996 in Lakota, Côte d’Ivoire, brings a wealth of international and club experience.

During the 2023–24 season at Turkish side Tuzlaspor, he made 28 league appearances and scored 8 goals.

Prior to that, he featured in the 2022–23 campaign on loan at Hapoel Jerusalem (30 caps, 3 goals) and earlier enjoyed a stint on loan at RWDM (24 caps, 5 goals).

Togui also made his mark in European football at Belgian club KV Mechelen, tallying 14 goals in 60 league appearances between 2018 and 2023.

He had a brief spell at Moroccan side Difaâ El Jadida in 2014–15, where he scored 2 goals in 9 outings.

Togui was the top scorer in the 2017–18 Côte d’Ivoire Ligue 1, netting 23 times for SC Gagnoa in 26 appearances.

On the international stage, Togui has earned five caps for the Ivorian national team since 2018 .

He is expected to report for pre‑season training in Kigali ahead of APR’s domestic league and CAF competition.
