TVET Expo Scheduled for June 1–5 in Kigali

The upcoming TVET Exposition is set to take place from June 1 to 5, 2025, at Camp Kigali, under the broader event of the Rwanda Future Skills Forum.

According to Paul Umukunzi, Director General of the Rwanda TVET Board, the expo will serve as a platform to showcase how Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses are delivered and how they align with job market demands.

Details about the TVET Expo were clarified during a media briefing jointly organized by Rwanda Polytechnic and the Rwanda TVET Board on May 28, 2025.

“All sectors will be represented, including hospitality, tourism, industrial services, and modern agriculture,” Umukunzi said.

A highlight of the expo will be a skills competition, where over 100 young people will demonstrate their expertise in various trades. Winners will be awarded prizes, recognizing their vocational talents.

Umukunzi encouraged both youth and parents to attend the event to learn more about TVET, its relevance for future careers, and how to enroll in programs that match students’ vocational interests.

Currently, Rwanda has 596 TVET schools across the country. Recent statistics show that 70% of TVET graduates successfully secure employment after completing their studies.
