An AFP reporter said that the head of French Diplomacy, Jean-Noél Barrot, arrived in Kigali; in Rwanda on Thursday, January 30, 2025, to discuss with President Kagame the issue in the Eastern part of the DRC, after going to Kinshasa and talking to Tshisekedi.
As the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, did on the phone with his Rwandan Counterpart a few days ago, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France is also expected to request the “withdrawal of the Rwandan army”, in Eastern DRC, where Kinshasa and UN accuses Rwanda of supporting M23, according to Mr.Barrot’s services.
On this Thursday before noon, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France held talks with President Félix Tshisekedi in Kinshasa.
This happened after that on Tuesday in Kinshasa; protesters attacked several embassies including French, Belgian and American Embassies, where these countries are criticized by DRC authorities and Peoples, of not doing anything about the attack in Goma.
While in Rwanda in his visit, Minister Barrot is expected to visit the Gisozi Genocide Memorial, built to commemorate the victims of the genocide that killed over a million of people from April to July 1994.
