Bernard Muramira has been elected as the new Chairperson of Rwanda NGOs Forum on HIV/AIDS and Health Promotion (RNGOF on HIV/AIDS & HP) for the next five years.
The election took place on November 19, 2021 in Kigali, during the 15th Annual Ordinary General Assembly Meeting.
Muramira, the founder and Executive Director of Strive Foundation Rwanda (SFR), replaced Felicite Rwemarika who had chaired the Forum since 2015.
“As the forum has mission to promote the health and Human Rights Sector in Rwanda, and obviously you can see there is a significant role that the forum has played so far – my aim is to stick on the trend and we move forward, for the sake of the wellbeing of the communities. We will seek to always bring positive impact on people’s living conditions, and continue to be the country’s notable health-sector contributor. We are committed to finding all possible solutions to reach out to the people we want to support.”, said Muramira.
RNGOF on HIV/AIDS & HP is a National network of National NGOs intervening in the Health and Human Rights Sector. The forum consists of 138 members in total, in which, eleven were approved by the 15th Annual Ordinary General Assembly Meeting.
The newly approved 11 organizations as new members to join the Forum include: AMEGERWA (a Rwandan Non-Governmental organization committed to promote gender equality by engaging men and boys in prevention of Gender-Based Violence & HIV; Sunlight Initiative Rwanda (a Rwandan NGO that aims at empowering vulnerable people by promoting their livelihood towards a poverty free and just society; Community Health Boosters Rwanda (Youth led NGO committed to boost community health in SRHR, Maternal health, HIV, Malaria and NCDs); HERO; YOMADO; Organization Enfant Mere; CAM- Rwanda; Tumukunde Initiative; Living Equality Initiative; Love To Help Organization and ISANO Organization.
